Sort your photos without uploading them.
Kioo indexes the photo folders already on your computer. It finds duplicates, reads dates and places, and groups trips into events. It never moves, renames or edits your files, and nothing leaves your machine.
All downloads · version 0.1.0
What it does
- Finds duplicates, including resized and re-saved copies. You choose which one to keep; the rest go to a trash folder, never straight to deletion.
- Reads when and where each photo was taken, and names the place without going online.
- Groups photos into events, so a weekend away shows up as one event.
- Filters by anything: date, place, event or tag, combined.
Installing
Windows: “Windows protected your PC”
This early build isn’t code-signed yet, so SmartScreen will warn you. Click More info, then Run anyway. Kioo opens in an Edge window.
Linux
Make it executable and run it:
chmod +x kioo-0.1.0-linux-x86_64
./kioo-0.1.0-linux-x86_64
To add it to your app menu, move it somewhere permanent (for example
~/.local/bin) and run it once with install-desktop.
Needs glibc 2.35 or newer: Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora, Arch and similar. It opens in
Chromium, Chrome, Brave or Edge if you have one, otherwise your default browser.
Early build
0.1.0 is a test release. Face grouping isn’t included yet. If something breaks,
the log is kioo.log in %LOCALAPPDATA%\kioo on Windows or
~/.local/share/kioo on Linux. Deleting that folder resets Kioo
without touching your photos.
